‘Ojakgyo Family’ Presents Best Harmony

The KBS weekend drama “Ojakgyo Family” has achieved twenty percent viewer ratings after airing only two episodes and it unveiled the secret of all the members’ best harmony in the drama. The secret was the actors’ unceasing practice. When its first episode aired on August 6, viewers evaluated the drama highly as it perfectly formed a harmony among writer Lee Jeong Sun’s excellent writing skills, production director Ki Min Soo’s emotional directing skills, and old and young actors’ best acting skills. “Ojakgyo Family” has been praised continuously for its literary value, characteristic actors, and top notch acting skills of cast members. But their best acting came from every actor’s ceaseless practice. Even within a tight filming schedule, actors read the script over and over again and practiced acting all the time.

Unveiled stills can show their enthusiastic script reading practice on the set. In particular, the veteran actors are giving extraordinary effort to their practice. Actress Kim Ja Ok, who has a rather long script, sits everywhere on the set whenever she has time to practice, and actress Kim Yong Rim also reads her script over again during the hot summer days while fanning herself.

Actor Paek Il Seob, who plays a friendly character in the drama, looks very relaxed when he practices reading his script. Actress Park Joon Geum studies her script very hard after checking her part with a red pen. Actor Jeong Woong In also becomes an example to junior actors by carrying his script all the time with him, even during break times. Ryu Soo Young and Choi Jeong Yoon read their parts separately and then practiced together for better acting. The youngest actor of “Ojakgyo,” Yoo Yi, plays the protagonist of the drama and she also studies her script whenever she has time. Her effort to memorize the script and practice acting on the set reportedly created a friendly atmosphere on the set. The production company, Chorokbaem Media, said, “All the cast members of ‘Ojakgyo Family’ do not stop practicing to present perfect and best harmony in the drama, and their hidden effort is actually shining in the drama.”
The pleasant family story of “Ojakgyo Farm” airs every Saturday and Sunday evening at 7:55 pm on KBS 2TV.

‘Ojakgyo Family’ Already Draws Attention With Dramatic Encounter

On the second episode on August 7, Baek Ja-eun (Uee), a hot-tempered daughter of a rich businessman, encounters Hwang Tae-hee (Ju Won), a peevish police detective, due to Ja-eun’s father Baek In-ho (Lee Young-ha), whom Tae-hee is pursuing.

Tae-hee is tipped off that In-ho is leaving for China while trying to find his whereabouts. In-ho is supposed to answer a police summons as a witness in relation to a case he is investigating. Tae-hee hurries to an airport to catch him. At the same time, Ja-eun also goes to the airport to see her father off as she was told that he would travel to China on business. But she fails to meet him, and only brushes past Tae-hee, who is also waiting for In-ho in vain.

Meanwhile, Hwang Chang-sik (Baek Il-seop), who runs Ojakgyo Farm, confesses to his family that the owner of the farm is not him, as the real owner, In-ho, asks him to return it, sending them into shock.

Viewers expressed their expectations for the development of the two’s relationship. They wrote messages saying, “The look in their eyes hints that there will be something between them,” and “It seems to indicate that there will be a rough road ahead for the two to be involved in a romantic relationship.”
